Volunteering

There are lots of interesting and rewarding volunteer opportunities at Bradford Cathedral. Our volunteers help to make the building welcoming for visitors and support our hospitality, music-making and ministry. That might involve being a Welcomer, helping with flower arranging, being part of our verger team, gardening, singing in the choir, or ringing our peel of twelve bells.

Some of our volunteering opportunities include:

  • Churchwardens
  • Servers
  • Lay Assistants
  • Healing Team
  • Stewards
  • Refreshment teams
  • Flower arrangers
  • Education team and welcomers
  • Artspace committee and volunteers
  • Children’s work on a Sunday
  • Choir Chaperones
  • Adult Singers
  • Bell Ringers
  • Volunteer Vergers

Not all of the opportunities listed above are currently open for new volunteers. Please see below for the current list of volunteering opportunities that you can apply for.

Choir Chaperone

Choir Chaperone

Chaperones are an integral part of the running of the cathedral choir and we are extremely grateful for all their support. The role is wide-ranging and rewarding, especially as the chaperones get to know the choristers better, supporting the children in all their activities at the cathedral.

Adult Singer

Adult Singer

Bradford Cathedral seeks the services of choral singers to contribute to the weekly pattern of sung services. Volunteer adult singers will sing in the cathedral choir when required.
