24 Feb Dignity in Dependency

A course that helps us to think about and prepare for the years when we may become dependent on others for care, or when we may need to help provide care for others, express our wishes about end of life care and financial planning.  Have we made a will and how recently have we updated it?  How easy do we find it to talk about such matters with our relatives and friends?

All sessions are on Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm at Bradford Cathedral.  Contact Canon Mand Coutts, Churchwarden Maggie Peel or email info@bradfordcathedral.org

Thy Kingdom Come

Ascension Day (25 May) to Pentecost (4 June)

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

Here in the Cathedral, the aim is to provide all Christians in Bradford a creative opportunity to pray that friends, family, colleagues and strangers will find faith in Jesus.

Ascension Day at 7pm is when everything begins and the period of prayer comes to a climax on Pentecost Eve (Saturday 3 June) at 7pm with a Praise and Thanksgiving event.

Between these two dates there will be six different specifically-created prayer stations open to anyone from 9am - 5pm; and in the evening, for church groups, by prior arrangement.

The Ascension Day service will begin at 7pm with opening liturgy then everyone will be given space for about 30-40 minutes to use the prayer stations to intentionally pray for people they know, then everyone will gather again for the Eucharist.

Full details of the Pentecost event will follow, but please put the date in your diary now.

More information and further details of the vision, background and resources are available from www.thykingdomcome.global or speak to the Cathedral Office.
