Augustiner-Kantorei of Erfurt sing at the Cathedral Eucharist

Over 100 singers join together to offer music as part of our cathedral worship. The Augustiner-Kantorei is a choir based at the monastery where Martin Luther was a monk, and has a venerable history, dating back to 1877. Music by J. S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Flor Peeters and Gustav Holst.

Special Organ Recital: Augustiner-Kantorei of Erfurt

Wednesday 16th October • 12:30pm (Lunch) / 1pm – 1:45pm • Free

A musical dialogue between the cathedral organ and the 120-strong Augustiner-Kantorei of Erfurt. The German choir, led by Dietrich Ehrenwerth, is undertaking a week-long tour of Yorkshire. In this concert they present works by J. S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Flor Peeters and Gustav Holst, and are accompanied by our cathedral Organist and Director of Music, Alexander Berry.
